Thanks for posting this Betise. I remember this so well. I’ve read articles about Ayrton’s Indy test with Emerson and have seen ‘still’ photos of it but have never seen actual film. Even though in Portuguese, I watched it all and enjoyed. It was good to see Ayrton away from the pressure of F1 and just enjoying the experience. I remember wondering at the time (in 1992) how serious this test was and remember well the very tough negotiations that were going on at the same time with McLaren regarding the forthcoming 1993 contract. I seem to remember that 1993 eventually ended up being a ‘race by race’ contract for Ayrton (think I have that right??). I’d loved to have seen him compete in Indy Cars and am convinced that he’d have been just as successful as in F1 – a winner! However, if he had gone to Indycar, it would have robbed us all of seeing him in 1993 and those 5 magical wins in Brasil, Monaco, Donington, Suzuka and Adelaide. I still consider 1993 to be his best season even though there was no title to show for it.. All best.

Quem disse que motor Turbo não faz barulho bonito?! Agora eu queria mesmo era ver o Ayrton num circuito oval, acho que ele iria dormir de tão fácil…
