RIO2016: WE SHOULD SPEND MORE, SAYS RIO MAYOR
In an internet hangout with Brazilian journalist last night, the Rio’s mayor Eduardo Paes defended the high spending on infrastructure for the Olympic Games, which already reached around £40 billion. It is obviously an attempt to prepare the population for the extra funds that will inevitably be spent in the next 2 years. According to Paes, the more you spend on infrastructure, bigger the legacy.
“People demand legacy and mobility but complain about the work being done. It’s a lose-lose situation”, he sniped at the locals who complain that the amount of works have troubled the day-to-day population.
The budget for infrastructural alone have totalled over £6billion.
Nice try, PR machine working hard.
