World Cup: 26 Irregularities at Opening Stadium
There are still 26 irregularities in the Itaquerão, stadium for the opening match of the World Cup. Among them, the Corinthians have not informed how the fans will get out of it in case of emergency, nor what will be the exact capacity of the stadium. According to firefighters, all questions must be answered to be given permission to be used as “a meeting place for people.”
Firefighters say they can not issue the “survey certificate” if the technical design of fire safety is not modified. Without this document, the city can not issue another one called “Occupancy Permit”. This attests to the completion of the work.
Corinthians and Odebrecht construction company say many suggestions adjustments have been incorporated into the project and wishing to deliver documents to firefighters corrected this week. By law, the fire department will have a period of 30 days to do the survey after the project’s approval, but say they will review the case as soon as they receive an overview.
Approximately 65 000 people are expected for the opening match of the World Cup, played between Brazil and Croatia, on 12 June. The Corinthians received a promise of Odebrecht, which aims to deliver the stadium ready in 14 days.
